SYDNEY, Sept. 23 (Xinhua) China overpowered Bosnia and Herzegovina 98-51 to claim their second straight win at the FIBA ​​Women’s Basketball World Cup here (Friday).

China continued its offensive momentum on its way to another comfortable victory after beating South Korea 107-44 in the opening match on Thursday.

The names of ten Chinese players are put on the scoreboard with five players reaching double the numbers. Han Shuo and Li Meng led the way with 18 and 17 points, respectively. Lee hit 64 percent of the field goals and contributed three rebounds, three assists and one steal as well.

This was the first meeting between the two teams on the world stage.

With Junkel Jones as Bosnia’s leading player, the team opened the game with a 3. However, China wiped out a 0-5 deficit after a tip to lead the first quarter 26-21, before expanding the advantage to 19 points by half time.

In the second quarter, China benefited from a strong defense and their opponents lost around the edge, while Han came on the field and fought hard at both ends. 198 cm tall Jones continued to attack, but ran out of strength.

The second half opened with a three-pointer from Lee as China continued to dominate the match. Han also scored back-to-back points for helping her team maintain a comfortable cushion.

China will play what is expected to be their toughest match in Group A on Saturday, when the defending champions face the United States.
