Big 12 announces men’s basketball conference roster

Lubbock, Texas – The 18-round battle begins on New Year’s Eve.

Texas Tech Big 12 play opens on the road at TCU in Fort Worth on Saturday, December 31 to begin the final season of the home-and-away series between each of the current 10 convention programs before hosting Kansas on Tuesday, January 3 for the home slate to begin. The tipping time for the opening game in Fort Worth has yet to be set, while the conference announced an 8 p.m. tip for KU-Tech in Lubbock with the game broadcast on ESPN or ESPN2.

Additionally, game times for previously announced non-conference games are now posted on the program’s schedule page. Highlights of the non-conference announcement include the 8pm notice for the inaugural season on Monday, November 7 against Northwestern State and 7pm tips for matches against Louisiana Tech and Georgetown at the United Supermarkets Arena.

Times and possible broadcast assignments are on the TexasTech.com schedule page and will be updated throughout the season.

“We are excited about this team,” Texas Tech coach Mark Adams He said. “We have high expectations. Our fan base expects success. West Texas fans want players who will play hard together. They want grit and represent West Texas the right way. It’s tough and we’ve put in the work for it. Our guys embraced it though. I think we’ll be able to Compete with anyone in the country.”

The Big 12 two-round tournament will conclude on Saturday, March 4, heading to the Phillips 66 Big 12 men’s basketball tournament that will take place March 8-11 at T-Mobile Center in Kansas City. The teams will come out of the conference play on Saturday, January 28 for the annual Big 12/SEC Challenge.

All 90 major league games are scheduled to broadcast with 86 on ESPN platforms, including Big 12 Now on ESPN+, and four on CBS. Dates, times and TV designations are subject to change. Final details of the flexi picks will be announced near the game dates. The Big 12 has grabbed the last two National Championships, with Baylor winning the title in 2021, followed by Kansas bringing home the 2022 title.

The Red Raiders were 12-6 in the Big 12 game last season, including a perfect 9-0 lead in home team play. Overall, Tech has been 18-0 at home this season which only Kentucky has matched at the national level. The team finished third in the Big 12 standings and would advance to the finals of the Big 12 Championship before falling to Kansas. Tech launches the 2022 conference campaign as it swept Texas, Baylor and West Virginia while splitting with the other six teams.

Tech won a 75-67 home win over Kansas last season in their opening home game and will host the Jayhawks once again in their first home game of the year. The Red Raiders dropped Lawrence’s 94-91 overtime decision last season and will travel to play KU on February 28. The Big 12 schedule also includes games against Texas, including travel to play the Longhorns on January 14 at the Moody Center in Austin before hosting them in the United States on February 13. Tech Baylor hosts January 17th and travels to Waco February 4.

Broadcast highlights at this point include playing on CBS for a backgammon game at Baylor on February 4 and hosting Texas on ESPN Big Monday at 8 p.m. on February 13. CBS Sports’ live coverage will be available on Paramount+, with additional coverage on CBSSports.com And the CBS Sports HQ.

Single-game tickets for the Red Raider Basketball home games will go on sale later this fall with more information released later.
