4-Ingredient Bacon-Wrapped Cocktail Wieners Recipe Is a Holiday Classic | Appetizers

I like to do – and eat – appetizers. Most of the time, I prefer to eat a meal of appetizers than a main course. I also think that a spread of appetizers is just perfect for a party, holiday gathering or New Year’s party with the children.

One of the best appetizer recipes is bacon-wrapped sausages, otherwise known as bacon-wrapped. Frank cocktails or smokies or christmas Pigs in a blanket. Whatever name you prefer, in my opinion, it’s the best kind of appetizer for three reasons:

• This is delicious.
• He feeds a lot.
• It stays warm.

The reason smoky cocktails stay hot is because you make them in the slow cooker! This is also what makes this recipe so easy. If you ask my husband and sons, they’ll tell you bacon makes everything better. Win-win! If you’ve never done piggies in a blanket before, I hope you’ll add this to your list. Ask guests to serve themselves directly from the slow cooker to keep the sausages warm for a long time or transfer them to a serving platter.

Ingredients

• 1 package (16 ounces) cocktail sausages
• 12 ounces of bacon
• 1 3/4 cup brown sugar
• 1/2 tablespoon paprika

Here’s how to do it:

1. Cut each slice of bacon into three pieces. Wrap a piece of bacon around each sausage, using a toothpick to secure the bacon to the sausage.
2. In a small bowl, combine brown sugar and paprika.
3. Sprinkle 1 cup of the brown sugar mixture on the bottom of the slow cooker. Add the cocktail beans. Sprinkle the remaining brown sugar on top of the sausages.
4. Cover and cook over high heat for 3 hours. While cooking, you can move the sausages around to help them cook evenly.
